📚 OpenSpec: The Future of Product & Engineering Workflows?
One of the products I learned about recently (not affiliated) is OpenSpec.
It’s free right now, and like every other app today, already uses GPT under the hood.
What I love about it is that it’s niched down to product and engineering, and it’s not just “you can write any document, start now”.
It gives you templates from around the web (see the Figma PRD in the screenshot), then it offers a way to write yours (with AI).
Then the neat thing is you can send it off to Google Docs or Notion.
So instead of trying to force you to write inside their tool, not your tool of choice, they slot in your workflow without getting in the way. Great product.
I was so impressed, I added it to The Big Book of Prioritization, and I’m hoping to speak with the CEO in the coming weeks.
ad. Master Prioritization. Craft Winning Strategies. Easy.
I recently released The Big Book of Prioritization.
It’s over 100 frameworks, tools & templates for prioritization, strategy, roadmapping, and workshops in one big Notion database.
No more scouring the web trying to stitch together advice across courses, books and blogs. All in one place.
It’s only $49. Less than the price of 1 hour of your precious time.
👀 Product Sense Workshop: How Shreyas Doshi Helped Me Rekindle My Passion for Innovation
Product Sense is one of those skills that you either have or don’t have. And also one that is the most fun to develop.
Recently I started to feel like I was losing mine a bit.
So I went on a tear through the multiverse of madness Youtube and chanced upon this great 1-hour workshop with Shreyas Doshi that has < 500 views a year later.

Who's George?
I’m an underdog product manager.
Product management in New Zealand (where I live) is still a relatively immature discipline. I also came into it late via data science and UX. I may be older than others, but I often feel like a rookie.
To become better at my craft, I learn and explore new ideas relentlessly.
Then I share high-quality, tried-and-true ideas that can be used right away.
How I can help you:
If you want to feel smarter, I’ve compiled my best actionable finds in prodmgmt.world.
If you need to figure out prioritization in your role, get The Big Book of Prioritization.
See you next week.
