📚 How to Validate Your Beachhead Market With Experiments

I found this article from

I Want Product-Market Fit
a great step-by-step walk through of the process of selecting a beachhead market.

It presents Flowline, a startup offering an AI-based sports trainer, as an example.

Flowline considered two sports, tennis and padel, for their market entry and ultimately chose padel as a beachhead.

The startup conducted several experiments to validate their market hypotheses, including surveys, competitor analysis, cold-calling padel courts, running a landing page experiment, and handcrafting a prototype.

What I like about this article is that it steps you through the validation process concretely, showing output of each experiment and how that drives further decision-making.

Check it out in more detail:

👀 5 Essential Steps for Designing Great Onboarding

Let's face it, who doesn't love a smooth onboarding process?

It's like finding an instruction manual that actually makes sense.

But it’s super rare to see it done well.

In this video, Celia Hodent, a renowned UX strategist who's worked on major games like Fortnite and Rainbow Six, shares some pretty cool insights into game onboarding.

Celia insists that it should be tackled early on, preferably during pre-production.

She talks about the importance of creating an onboarding plan that breaks down the game mechanics players need to understand and ranks them based on difficulty and importance.

She also discusses the importance of the 'why' alongside the 'what' during onboarding. It's not just about teaching users the product mechanics, but also showing them why those mechanics matter, making the learning process more engaging and meaningful.
